7 Billion and counting

Forcasters at the United Nations say that today the world's population has surpassed 7 billion people. Cause for celebration or concern?
"Our world is one of terrible contradictions," says UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. "Plenty of food but one billion people go hungry. Lavish lifestyles for a few, but poverty for too many others."
